Description
Front of Old Garden Beach House at an angle in Rockport, Massachusetts
Old Garden Beach House is located in the sought after Marmion Way location, which offers the quintessential Rockport experience: the convenience of a short walk to town; access to Old Garden Beach; and the beautiful Old Garden Public Foot Path located across the street, which takes a scenic and winding route along the water’s edge and through the Headlands of Rockport, with breathtaking views of Rockport Harbor and town.
As you walk up the front path to the house you are welcomed by the comfortable and plentiful seating on the deck, in which to sit and drink in the views of the perennial garden, ocean views, and breathtaking sunsets. As you enter the house into the foyer, the open-plan first floor invites you into living room which is adorned with a custom-built stone fire place, constructed with local stone “poppies” (stones which have been rounded by years of rolling in the waves), and has large glass windows and doors that open up to the deck, offering a cross breeze and beautiful ocean views. Beyond the living room area is the dining room and kitchen, also hosting ocean views. The gorgeous granite kitchen is appointed with high end appliances, including double ovens, 6 burner Thermador stove, a large mahogany island with seating for 3, a large eat at bar, and other conveniences to make your stay comfortable.

The main floor is also home to two bedrooms: a queen at the front of the house with ocean views and a walk out to the front porch and a queen at the back of the house which opens onto the back deck. In between the two bedrooms are Jack and Jill bathrooms: two half baths (one per bedroom) and in the center is a shared bath with tub and shower. A full laundry area is also located on this main level. There is a second entrance at the back of the house, which opens up to the deck with a grill and leads to the driveway. Entering the house from the back there is a built-in bench to sit on, and the wall is appointed with hooks for jacket hanging. There is an outdoor, enclosed shower located on the side of the house perfect for rinsing off after the beach or for enjoying under the blue skies or starry nights.
The lower level is a young person’s delight with four single beds, a large sofa, love seat, and chair, surrounding a TV and DVD entertainment area. The pool table and air hockey table are great for friendly competitions when you aren’t out enjoying the beach or other Rockport attractions. There is parking in the front horseshoe driveway, but you might prefer parking in the back (4 cars) to avoid blocking the beautiful views. This beach house has it all: comfort, charm, and convenience.
